WHY SHOULD I START USING DOMUS3D?

To put it simply, DomuS3D will make your design process more efficient and increase your sales.
As an all-in-one tool, DomuS3D lets you streamline your design process, organizing your project in one central place. DomuS3D gives you floorplans, material lists, estimates, sales brochures, and a wide-variety of project views, including 2D surface detail, 3D navigation, and photorealistic renderings. With DomuS3D, you can engage your customers in the design process, exploring design alternatives and quickly presenting variations to their project to find exactly what they need. Plus, with our installation guides, you can minimize error during installation, ensuring a clear line of communication between designer, contractor, and customer.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO GET FAMILIAR WITH DOMUS3D?

While the amount of time it takes to get familiar with our program varies for each user, with the aid of our video tutorials, available on the Live! page, you can get up to speed and acquire a basic “know-how” to create complete projects starting right away. Furthermore, the simple and intuitive user interface is easy to get the hang of and allows you to work easily and independently within the entire program. No specific prior knowledge is required, however, a basic familiarity with computers is always helpful.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREATE AND COMPLETE A PROJECT?

It depends on the number of rooms, their size, and the level of detail you require. If you start with a clear idea, a single room only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. This is thanks to our stock catalogs, which offer all the basic graphic elements necessary for furnishing a room. With simple drag & drop commands, the design process is a simple assembly operation. If you want to explore different design alternatives, the time dedicated to a project can increase, but that is to be expected: the extra time is part of the fun of designing a new room!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE A RENDERING?

The time needed to complete a rendering depends on a number of factors, for example, the computer you are using, the size of the image to be generated, the number of items and light sources present in the scene, and the quality of the image. That said, for a medium quality small image (e.g. 1024×800 pixels) of a single room, run on an average computer, a rendering takes from about 2 to 4 minutes. For a full HD image (1920 x 1080 pixels) of a more detailed project, the average time should not exceed 10 minutes. If a higher photographic quality is required, the time required can double or even triple.

HOW DOES INSTALLATION WORK? WILL I BE ABLE TO INSTALL THE PROGRAM ON MY OWN?

The installation procedure is guided and extremely simple: everything runs automatically and in the few cases in which a response is required, you can simply confirm the default response. If you run into any problems, please try disabling antivirus software as this sometimes blocks important components from properly installing. CAN I INSERT MY OWN ELEMENTS, FOR EXAMPLE TILES OR 3D OBJECTS, INTO THE PROGRAM?

Absolutely! The program is open and allows you to import new tiles and new 3D items in just a few steps. For tiles, all you need is a .jpg image in RGB color (e.g. a photograph of the tile), while for furnishing elements, 3D models in .dxf, .3ds, .fbx, or .skp (SketchUp) formats are necessary.

HOW OFTEN ARE THE TILE AND FURNISHING CATALOGUES UPDATED?

We have a team of people that works daily on the creation of 3D elements, the management and publication of new catalogs, and the updates we receive directly from manufacturers. It’s a non-stop task; given the quantity of manufacturers and the sheer number of products around the world, it may be necessary from time to time to receive a hand from our clients (showroom vendors) in pushing manufacturers to provide us with their newest material. Although it’s impossible to have everything from everyone, we are fully aware that the success of DomuS3D depends not only on the quality of the software, but also on the catalogs that it is able to support and offer to its users.

IF I RUN INTO TROUBLE AT THE START, ARE THERE TRAINING COURSES THAT EXPLAIN HOW TO USE THE PROGRAM?

Yes. In addition to the video tutorials available online on the Live! page, you can sign up for an online training session. We also offer private one-on-one and group virtual training sessions. In addition, you can always refer to the Online Guide for detailed information on the most important and used features of the Program.

WHAT KIND OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE COMES WITH DOMUS3D?

All technical assistance is done via email and the process is simple. You reach out to our support team and they will follow up with a solution. In the case of serious problems, our team will remotely connect to your computer and walk you through any necessary solutions.

CAN I USE DOMUS3D ON MY MAC?

DomuS3D only runs on Windows operating systems. To run DomuS3D on your Mac, you will need to use boot camp or a virtual machine with Windows. Please see our full hardware requirements to ensure that your computer is compatible with the software.

HOW OFTEN ARE PROGRAM UPDATES RELEASED?

In general, a major release is published each year and 2 to 3 minor releases are published in between. Updating to the newest release is automatic with all subscriptions, making sure that your version of DomuS3D is the latest. Each new version brings together both major and minor updates. We pride ourselves in our close relationships with our users and listen to their feedback when developing new features within the program.

DO I NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET TO WORK ON DOMUS3D?

Yes. You need an internet connection to login to the program.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION?

To cancel your subscription, go to My Account and navigate to the “Subscriptions” tab. Click on the subscription that you want to cancel and hit the cancel button. For step by step instructions, please see: here.
